Dr Martha Chinouya is Director of Studies for LSTM’s MSc Global Health Programme, a flexible online programme that was developed in close consultation with employers and global health experts.
Martha supervises students at postgraduate level including PhD students using qualitative research methodologies on sexual health, lung health and antimicrobial resistance in Africa and her diasporas.
She collaborates with colleagues at LSTM on the International Multidisciplinary Project on Lung Health and TB in Africa (“IMPALA”), working with the Social Science and Health Systems group. These research activities offer rich material for teaching on the global health programme with its focus on global health inequalities, strengthening health systems, the SDGs, communicable, non-communicable (chronic) disease, and globalisation.
She has extensive experience working with migrants including refugees, asylum seekers and children, with a special focus on ‘rights’ discourses.
