Module Overview:

This module aims to provide managers, practitioners and professionals a with a range of leadership and management concepts, skills and approaches to design, plan, implement and improve the provision of equitable, efficient, effective and quality health care services that meet the needs of diverse populations.

This module is for those interested in developing their knowledge, understanding and skills for the successful management of health services. Managing health care organisations and programmes so that they provide equitable, efficient, effective and quality health care services that meet the needs of diverse populations is critical to the realisation of Universal health Coverage.

You will learn about principles and practices of leadership, governance and accountability of organisations, managing resources, quality assurance, and management of change.

The module is taught using a student-centred approach including group exercises, case studies designed to simulate realistic situations, and directed reading, supported by presentations from LSTM lecturers and outside speakers. It is assessed by two assessments: a 3000-word critical analysis of a case study.
