Module Overview:
The module (re)introduces you to the theoretical and practical aspects of qualitative approaches in various global health topics. You will learn the practical aspects of qualitative research, including the influence of power in global health qualitative research, theoretical approaches, selection of research topic, methods (interviews, ethnography, observations etc.), ethics, data collection, transcribing, data analysis, presentation and communication of results to diverse audiences. You will critically discuss, with examples the contextual and contested nature of research ethics and the importance of being a reflexive practitioner. Topics such as critical review, quality, rigour and trustworthiness will be covered.
